Born Feb. 1, 1934 in Columbus, Neb., he came to Alaska 49 years ago and worked as a commercial fisherman most of his life. He lived in the Palmer area until 1980, when he moved to Seldovia. He lived there until his death.
He was a member of the Palmer Elks Lodge and served in the U.S. Army at Fort Richardson from 1956 until 1962.
He is survived by his son, Greg of Palmer; two daughters, Melanie of Seldovia and Becky Zaborack of Wasilla; one sister, Mrs. Pat Russell of Melbern, Ark.; and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Schupp of Palmer.
