Confederate Soldier. Adolphus Page was born on 2 Nov 1843, in Buffalo, West Virginia. He enlisted in Company D of the 8th Virginia Cavalry and served the entire length of the War. He participated in the entire siege of Knoxville (he served under the command of LtGen Longstreet), and the battle of Winchester. After the War, he came to Canon City in 1878 and married Miss Effie Thomas. He operated a cleaning establishment. Adolphus passed away on 16 Mar 1925, at the age of 82. The cause of death was gangrene of the foot and the feebleness of old age. He was too weak to operate on.
