She was the daughter of Vincent and Mildred Leach. On 4 Apr 1971, she was united in marriage to Lee Henry, who survives.

She grew up in Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. In 1978, she moved to AR to make her home. She became a certified dietary manager, working for various nursing homes throughout her career.
