James Veith Injuries Fatal

James B. Veith. 21, 1439 Ladd Ave., died Wednesday afternoon in Firmun Desloge Hospital, St. Louis, of injuries suffered when the car he was driving struck a power pole on St. Louis Road Monday afternoon. Mr. Veith was a senior at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1933, in Wood River. His parents are George and Glenna Duncan Veith. They survive.

Also surviving are a sister Mrs. Steve (Deborah) Benefiel of Paris, brothers George M. Veith of Collinsville and Richard Veith of Edwardsvillc, paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Veith of Springfield and maternal grandmother Mrs. G. N. Duncan of Kerrville, Tex.

Mr. Veith was engaged to be married to Patricia Jedda of Collinsville.

He was a charter member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity chapter at SIU-E and was a manager for several years in the Edwardsville Little League.

He was a member of tha First Christian Church—Disciples of Christ in Edwardsville.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday and until 11 a.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home and after noon Saturday at First Christian Church.

The funeral will be in the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Roger Zollavs, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be m Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Christian Church—Disciples of Christ.
