Roy Conrad Evans Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather has gone to Heaven to watch over his family.
Roy was born to Roy and Bita Evans on August 4, 1921 in Parkview, NM.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rose Mary, his children, Cecilia (Terry) Carpenter, Rosita (Martin) Schelble, Roy (Joyce) Evans, Joe (Denise) Evans, Gerry (Ernie) Crawford, Chris (Cyd) Evans and Ana Maria (Alberto) Salvadore, grandchildren, Michael, Christine, Ryan, Sean, Michelle, Brooke, Tyler, Jason, Justin, Ana Christina, Patricia and Iliana and great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Nathan, Hailey, Kyla, Adriana and Bianca.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret.
Roy served his country during World War II as a Navigator, flying in a B-17, in the United States Army Air Corps, with the 82nd Air Corps. Roy was a member of The American Legion, Post #13 and The Drum & Bugle Corp.
Roy was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for 61 years.
A Rosary was held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with a Funeral Mass that followed. Entombment was held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Albuquerque, NM.
Roy's family wishes to thank Fr. Ralph Herrera for his spiritual guidance, Hospice of the Sandias, especially Terry López and Cynthia Ortega for the tender, loving care he received from them.
