Further research, 14 Nov 2012: Thomas, according to an article in the Denton Journal, is physically buried in the Denton Cemetery. This would make his headstone in the American Military Cemetery, Belgium only a marker to honor him. His original burial site was in Section KK in Belgium and now the marker is gone. His body arrived Nov 1948 in New York, along with 7 other deceased Delmarva military personnel, aboard the US Army Transport Robert Burns.

Awarded The Purple Heart for wounds received in a previous battle. He was part of the Thunderbolt Division.
