Barbara Ann Sawey Cady, 70, passed away Friday, April 27th, due to complications from cancer in Rathdrum, ID.

She was born to the late Alma and Harold G. Sawey, Nov. 14, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas. Barbara graduated from Lathrop High School in Fairbanks, Alaska and attended the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, where she met and married Monte Burt Cady, Sr. in 1960.

Barbara was a wonderful person and loved by everyone who knew her. She touched everyone with her wit, kind heart, humor, and patience. Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an energetic participant in life. She loved family history, laughing, and caring for those around her.

Married to Monte Cady for fifty-two years, Barbara was a proud mother of ten children, doting grandmother to twenty-seven grand children, and loving great grandmother to four great-grand children.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Sawey. She is survived by her husband, Monte Burt Cady, Sr of Rathdrum, ID; daughter Christine Elizabeth Cady Fowler, son Charles Francis Cady, daughter Judith Lynn Cady, daughter Margaret "Peggy" Ann Cady Richardson, son Monte Burt Cady, Jr., son Matthew Gary Cady, daughter Susan Lee Cady Allred, daughter Patricia Ellen Cady, daughter Rebecca Lou Cady, and daughter Cathleen Grace Cady Naegle.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 3pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1700 Brick Road in Ellensburg, WA. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Steward & Williams Tribute Center are caring for the funeral arrangements.
