Anna Margaret Barnard Borton, 67, died at 4:40 PM Saturday [May 30, 1964] in Lafayette Home Hospital, where she was being examined in the emergency room. Born in Tippecanoe County, she married A. Arnold Borton in 1916. Mrs. Borton was employed as baker at Sunnyside Junior High School for many years before retiring a year ago. She was a member of Stidham Methodist Church, Taylor Station.
Surviving with her husband are six daughters, Mrs. Thomas [Edith] Jennings, Mrs. Charles [Eleanor] Stewart, Mrs. Harold [Betty Lou] Beever, all of Lafayette, Mrs. Frank [Lois] Goris of Kalamazoo, MI, Mrs. Estel [Madonna Rose] Liggett of Attica, and Mrs. Dale [Janet Louise] Jackson of Mooresville; two sons, Lee Borton of Romney and Gene Wesley Borton of Lafayette; three sisters, Mrs. Lulu Barnard, Mrs. Bertha Fuller, both of Kalispell, MT, and Mrs. Marie Collins of Lafayette; two brothers, S.W. Barnard and Edwin Barnard, both of Lafayette; 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Jack R. [Patsy Joan] German on Nov. 7, 1963.
