Mary Banks Spykerman - 90 years old. Born January 16, 1913, in Minersville, Utah to Leonard and Margaret Banks.
Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting and was a great cook and candy maker. Married February 15, 1941 to Ray Spykerman, she became a military wife. He swept her away to Maryland where she lived for many years. They were also stationed in Japan and Germany.
After the military, Mary lived in Sugarhouse, West Valley, then moved to Arizona. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as Primary President, Relief society President, teacher, etc. We are thankful that Heavenly Father came to take her home after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Preceded in death by: her parents Leonard and Margaret Banks; brother Peter Banks; sister Pauline Bronson; twin sister Margaret Banks; daughter Mary Lynn Parker; and son Dennis Spykerman. Mary is survived by: husband, Ray Spykerman; son, Bryan Spykerman (Pam Riley); daughter, Ellen Wagner (Craig); 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, Monday, December 29th at 11:00 a.m. following a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Camp Williams Veteran's Memorial Park.
