Erma was the third oldest of thirteen children.
Erma married Ben J. Grimm on August 30, 1940, in Rockford, Minnesota. They were loving parents to five daughters and were married for 69 years before Ben passed away in 2009. They lived in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Washington before purchasing a home in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, where they lived for 46 years. They moved to Forest Glen Senior Residence in Canyonville, Oregon in 2001 and to Tillamook, Oregon in 2007. Erma moved to Florence, Oregon in 2009.
Erma passed away at her adult foster home in Florence, Oregon.
Survivors include five daughters: Mavis (and Guy) Sabin of Central, South Carolina; Carol (and Lloyd) Hendrickson of Lisle, Illinois; Donella (and Bob) Miles of Tillamook, Oregon; Wanda (and John) O'Malley of Florence, Oregon; and Karen (and David) Imig of Layton, Utah, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Laverna Flemmer of Iowa and Lila Reuer of Wyoming; one brother, Edmer Baer of California, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Roseburg Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 11, 2012, at 11 a.m., for friends and family.
