Well Known Citizen Passes After Long Illness-Funeral Today
Riley Jones Coleman, who has made Greenville his home for the past five years, died on Tuesday afternoon at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Coleman resided on John St., coming here five years ago from the Tigerville section of the county where he is well known.
He was fifty-two years of age. His wife survives him with the following seven children: Boyce F. Coleman of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Mrs. D. E. Burns, of Detroit; Misses Selma Josts, Elizabeth and Moselle Coleman and Capers Coleman of this city. Three sisters, Mrs. J. H. Barton, of Howe, TX., Mrs. W. J. Berry, of Wellford, SC., Mrs. John Jones of Dacusville, SC; and two brothers, Messers. John S. and J. C. Coleman of Greenville county also survive.
Mr. Coleman was a member of the Central Baptist church of this city.
He was a member of Recovery Lodge, No. 31, A.F.M. of Cedar Camp No. 2, W.O.W and of Paris Mountain Council J.O.U.A.M.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of James F. Mackey and Sons, East Washington Street, Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery.
