Fred Wilson Bowerman

Fred Wilson Bowerman, age 89, of Friendsville, passed away Sunday night, November 9, 2008 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center.

He was a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during World War II. He was retired from ALCOA after 46 years of service and was a member of the Unitia Masonic Lodge # 295 F & AM. His hobby was woodworking and he has several wood items that he had made in Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum in Gatlinburg and Myrtle Beach.

He is preceded in death by son, Richard Bowerman; sisters, Effie Forrester, Ruth Rogers, and Edith Young; and brothers, Hobart Bowerman and Mike Bowerman.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Williams Bowerman; son and daughter in law, Hoyt and Donna Bowerman of Friendsville; grandson, Jeff Bowerman and wife, Renee; great grandson, Cody Bowerman; and several nieces.

Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Gene Gann and Rev. Obie Campbell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Chapel Cemetery for the graveside service and interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 3334 Zion Chapel Road, Louisville TN 37777.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, TN., (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
