Gaither Bowlin well known Martin businessman, died early Wednesday afternoon at Volunteer General Hospital. Death followed an apparent heart attack he suffered February 6. He was 71.
Mr Bowlin was employed at M & W Hardware and Knox Hardware firm on Lindell for twenty-two years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Villie Levister Bowlin; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Lassiter, and Steve Lassister.
Services were held Friday afternoon at Doug Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. O. A. Marrs and the Rev. Paul Douglass officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery with Doug Murphy Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Doyle Sims, Charles Stroud, Daave Knox, Roy Mires, Harry Rayn, and Leslie Lassiter.
