Francis Layton Brainard, 66, of Plant City, Fla., died Nov. 2 at his residence. He was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Muir, the son of Francis and Nellie Davis Brainard. He attended Muir and St. Johns Public Schools and Cedar Lake Academy. He married Marie Satterlee in Charlotte in 1946. He was formerly employed at Oldsmobile in Lansing, and retired in 1969, moving to Florida. He was a member of the Plant City Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marie; two sons, Charles of Plant City and Robert of Wanatchee, Washington; one daughter, Joyce Barnes of Gallatin, Tennessee; one
brother, William Brainard, Muir.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Muir Cemetery, the Rev. Stanley Snyder of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Arrangements are by the Hull Memorial Chapel of Muir.
