Mrs. Sarah Eblen Dies Sunday At Greenfield
Mrs. Sarah Jane Eblen, 78, wife of the late William Eblen and a lifelong resident of Massena and Atlantic, died Sunday morning at the Adair county hospital at Greenfield, where she had been a patient since December 30. She had lived in Atlantic 15 years prior to going to Greenfield last November to make her home with a niece.
Mrs. Eblen was born at Massena December 24, 1882, the daughter of M. and Mrs. Nicholas Connor and had lived there until moving to Atlantic. Mr. Eblen died last June 27.
Surviving are a son, Everett Eblen of Lawton, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Julia Seaman of Omaha and a brother, Frank Connor of Omaha. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick Catholic church in Massena, the Rev. Fr. Palmer officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this evening at the Sanders funeral home in Massena and interment will be in Calvary cemetery at Massena.

MASSENA - Last rites were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Anthony Palmer at St. Patrick's church for Mrs. Sarah Eblen. Altar servers were Raymond Waters, Robert Langfelt, Phil Casey, and Joe Clinton. Mrs. Gene Amdor and Mrs. Richard Anstey provided the music and casket bearers were Harry Stapleton, Harry Devore, R. E. Groves, Davis Mills, Paul Jennings, and Clair Morrison of Grant. Burial was in Calvary cemetery west of Massena. Relatives from a distance attending were Mrs. Eblen's son, Everett Eblen of Lawton, Oklahoma, Fred Eddy and family of Greenfield, Warnie Eblen of Afton, Mrs. Wallice and Alice Higgins of Creston, Katie Jennings and Kathleen Gress of Greenfield.
