Mary Ann Dickey, 51, of South Jordan, died Monday, June 9, 1997 at Jordan Valley Hospital.
She was born August 20, 1945 to John G. Brown and Mary E. Wooten in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
At the time of her death, she was employed at Huish Detergents. Ann never met anyone who wasn't a friend to her. She loved people and loved doing things for everyone. She was active in the LDS Church all her life, where she held many callings and loved to sing. She loved gardening, flowers, the outdoors, sewing and her family.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Wooten or Orem; husband, Richard Dickey of South Jordan; six children, Glenn C. (Mollie) Smith of West Jordan; Anthony Smith of South Jordan; David (Penny) Smith of Midvale; Michael Smith of Salt Lake City; Joelen (Scott) Smith of North Carolina; Stephanie Dickey of South Jordan; one grandson, Yuri C. Smith, one brother, Larry (Cheryl) Brown of Payson; one sister, Mickey (Stephen) Stokes, of Orem; and 11 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, John G. Brown.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Parkway 5th Ward Chapel, 3364 W. 11400 South, So. Jordan. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 So. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
