Clint Lowhorn, age 88, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Henry County Memorial Hospital. He was born June 25, 1920 in Davidson, TN, the son of Dewey and Ethel (Gothard) Lowhorn.
Clint was in the U.S. Army during WWII and also worked at the State Hospital for 30 years. He was President of the Local Union #876 for several years and was a member of Spiceland Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his daughters: Beverly Gail (John) Bowling, Rita (Sammy) Flynn, both of Maryville, TN and Judi (Dennis) Murphy of Ft. Wayne; sons: Charles (Sharon) Lowhorn and Roger Lowhorn, both of New Castle; grandchildren: Tami Meeks, Cindy (Rod) Melton, Dennis (Angie) Murphy II, all of Ft. Wayne, Ken (Nora) Bowling of Maryville, TN, Mitzi (Greg) Hughes of Greenfield, Sheri (David) Turner, Kelly (Tonya) Turner, both of New Castle, Kristy Davidson of New Palestine, Wade Lowhorn of Indianapolis, Michele (Mike) Davis Knoxville, TN, April (Daniel) McLain of Louisville, TN and Carrie Nuon; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers: John Lowhorn of New Castle and James Lowhorn of PA; sisters: Margaret Ledbetter of New Castle, Juanita (J.T.) Vaughn of Muncie, Clara (Bob) Craft of New Castle, Wilma (Gene) King of Muncie and Minnie (Joe) Gasper of NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Clint was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carmel Lowhorn on January 4, 2009; brother, Brooks; and a sister, Geneva.
Services will be Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Marcum Community Funeral Home with Reverends Alan Southerland and Jack Bimber officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemtery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the local American Legion and VFW.
