Stephen R. Woods, 63, a longtime Rushville resident, passed away May 1, 2012.

He was born on March 31, 1949 in Rushville to Dallas Woods and Lexie (Adams) Bell, both deceased. He married Lonna Middleton on March 31, 1972 and she survives.

He spent many years in California but had been back in Rushville since 1985. He worked several years at TP Service in Connersville where he was an appliance repairman. Stephen loved hunting arrowheads, working on cars, playing video games and fishing.

In addition to his wife Lonna of Rushville, he is survived by his sons, Ben & wife Stephanie of Rushville, Chris & wife Charlotte of Arlington and Nucoma & wife Julie of Martinsville, daughters, Shahawna Woods and life partner Harold Bowling of Brookville and Davona Garrison of Shelbyville, sisters, Sharon & husband Phil James of Indianapolis, Mary Jane & husband Richard Mozingo of Rushville and Marlene & husband Michael Sterwerf of Raleigh and 14 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by an infant son, William Joseph, a brother, Benjamin D. and a sister, Susan Cutter.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 8 at the Arlington East Hill Cemetery where friends are welcome to visit one hour prior to service. George Huff will preside.
