Guy was born Oct. 7, 1958, in Mansfield and was the son of Woodrow and Nona Bernice (née Windlinger) Ramey. Growing up in Perrysville, he was a 1977 graduate of Loudonville High School and attended Ohio State University. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving as a nuclear weapons specialist. He had lived in Lansing since 1996 where he was working as maintenance supervisor for Chisholm Hills Golf Course. He also had been an executive chef working in California, Las Vegas, Michigan and Ohio. He had previously been a pest control technician for the family business, Lu-Crest Pest Control of Perrysville. He was proudly known as "the master of all things electronic."
Guy is survived by his son, Guy T. Ramey Jr. of Houston; his daughter, Angela Gayheart, serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in England; four grandchildren, Megan, Guy III, Noah and Cody Ramey; four brothers, Curtis (Amy) Ramey of Lewis Center, Steven (Julie) Ramey of Lansing, Mich., Jim (Lorri) Ramey of Loudonville and Terry (Diane) Ramey of Malvern, Pa.; two sisters, JoAnne (Mel) Reinthal of Perrysville and Julie (Stephen) Conley of Lancaster; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Pastor Kathleen Walkerow officiating. Burial with military honors given by the American Legion and VFW will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at the funeral home.
