Eva Mae Knight Liles was the daughter of Gordy Viola Boone Knight and William M. Knight. She was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia and spent most of her life in Macon, Georgia. She died October 11, 1913 in Mobile, Alabama, several hours after the death of her sister, Willie Elizabeth Knight Callaway (Mrs. L. J.) who died in Macon, Ga. A double funeral was held for the sisters at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, and according to the obituary, there were many floral tributes and hundreds of mourners attended the funeral. She was the wife of Bernard Liles and was 27 years of age at the time of her death.
According to family members, she was in ill health and suffered heart failure and died upon learning the news of her sister's death.
