Ray Thomas Oden, 74 years old, of Front Royal, Virginia died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Mr. Sammy Campbell. Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Ray was born August 27, 1937, son of the late Emmett Lee and Elizabeth Allie Licklider Oden.
He retired as foreman at Avtex and owned and operated OO Farm. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #829. Ray was a graduate of Warren County High School, Class of 1956.
Surviving are his 2 daughters, Gwyndolyn Rae Oden Grove and Lisa Michelle Oden Laing both of Front Royal; a son, Dale Lee Oden of Front Royal; a brother, William Oden of Front Royal; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife Peggy Thornburg of Front Royal.
He was previously married to Easton Rebecca "Peggy" Beatty from 1956 to 1973.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, 2012, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Dale Oden, Ricky Costello, Jeffrey Costello, J. R. Kirby, Terry McDonald, and Ran-Dee Peterson.
