Marshall Homer Stobbs was the last child born to John Herman and Nellie Mae Weaver Stobbs in Ricardo, Kleberg, Texas near Kingsville, Texas. My mother, Eva Lee Stobbs, spoke fondly of Marshall's childhood days. He was three years old when she came into the Stobbs family. In those days, families lived together because of financial hardships due to WWI and the depression. Marshall met and married the love of his life, Gertrude P. Slack on 1 Aug 1934 in Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas. Together, they had three children, Elsie Nell, Charlene, and Vernon Stobbs. Marshall was an active member of his church and community and took both his elderly parents into his home until their death. Uncle Marshall and Aunt Gertrude (Gertie) were dearly loved by their many nieces and nephews.
