Pauline's Danny Boy. Beloved son of Vernon (1920-1977) and Pauline(1922-2003). Grandson of Edna Heidt Blakemore(1896-1989),Lester Heidt(1895-1969), Arthur Burke((1884-1956), and Bessie Burke(1886-1953). Dan was a bright and talented man. He was most likely a genius. He was a great artist. He drew perfect nudes from only looking at a photograph taken from one of his father's calendars. He also drew a beautiful pen and ink drawing of the little red church in Sonora, California. The 1960's were a tough time in America. While attending U.C.Berkeley Dan got involved with drugs, and became a stranger to the people that loved him. Dan joined the Marines during Vietnam, and did not come back the same person. He married briefly, but it ended in divorce, this put Dan over the edge. It did not help when his father died at age 56 in 1977. One year later on October 12, 1978, just a year after the death of his father Dan ended his life. Pauline Burke was all by herself when she got the news. Her nephew Mike retrieved Dan's van from the location of his death and helped her plan the service. She was very fond of Mike. She was never the same, even though she had a brother, and a sister and nieces and nephews that loved her, she still felt lost and alone with only her memories of him. Pauline re-joined her Family 24 years later on January 5, 2003.

Pauline would always cry when she heard the song 'Danny Boy' She always thought of her Danny Boy.

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

Thanks to Medora for sponsoring Dan's Page. His mother would be so happy.

*I just found out that Dan possibly had a son. If there is anyone that sees this page and knows anything about this, I would LOVE to hear from you.
