One Dead; Two Critically Burned When Fire Destroys Bone Residence At Baldwin

Mrs. Lillie McAdams, 78, Died Two Days After Fire; Mrs. Avery McAdams, Daughter, Remain In Hospital In A Critical Condition

Four people were burned Sunday night when fire destroyed the residence of W. R. Bone at Baldwin. 4 1/2 miles west of the Jones Chapel Highway. The victims were: Mrs. Lillie L. McAdams, age 78, who died in the Cullman Hospital, Tuesday, from body and facial burns; Mrs. Avery McAdams, 32, and daughter, Joyce Ann 10, who are in the hospital in critical condition from major burns, and Martha Joe McAdams, 8, who escaped with minor burns and has been discharges from the hospital.

Fire's Origin Unknown

The fire, which was discovered at midnight Sunday, made such a rapid headway, the occupants injured could not be awakened and removed in time to escape injury. The frame house quickly burned to the ground. The Bone family has no idea how the fire started.

Funeral services for Mrs. McAdams were held at Baldwin Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Christmas day, Rev. Ernie Neal officiating, Moss Service directing. Interment in church cemetery.

Surviving are a son, John McAdams, two brothers, Charlie and Teeter Burton, and sisters Mrs. Sarah Ann Burgett and Mrs. Lena Poss
