Michael was a music major and graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone. He was an accomplished organist. Michael was instrumental in providing spiritual counsel to patients at Bridgeway Treatment Center in Brevard, NC from 1990 through the time of his death in 1993. The retreats that he led were inspirational. Michael was a beloved friend and a wise teacher. The magnificent simplicity of his ministry to all of us is this; "The only information you need is that you are loved." (1993 parting message to two of his students).
