Ethel Josephine Winberg was born in St. Paul, MN to Olof P. and Ida Quarfoth Wallgren Winberg after the death of her husband Erik Wallgren. Ethel married Charles Henry Ostenberg on May 10, 1909 in Carlton Co., MN. While they lived in Atkinson, MN, she took care of the store and boarding house.

Charles and Ethel had three children: Carl Clifford (who died in his first year), Lucille Eleanore, and Lester Clyde. They remained in Duluth until they passed away. Ethel and Charles are both buried at Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth, MN.
