On 3 June 1868 in Amherst, ME he married Amanda Bradby (Goodwin), daughter of Jonathan Tracy Goodwin and Susan Silsby. She was divorced from 1st husband Charles Leland Brigham.
Their children were Agnes M and Gertrude Estelle.
They divorced between the 1870 census and 1873 when he remarried. In 1870 he was in one Amherst, ME census with his mother, father, and sibling and one with Amanda and daughter Agnes, in her parents house (and incorrectly transcribed as Austin P. Haynes. Gertrude was born that year and after that they divorced.
Around 1873 he married Sarah "Sadie" Monteith, daughter of David Monteith and Mary Jane Young.
Their children were Ena Lucy, Guy Linwood, and Ora.
Sarah preceded him in death. She is last seen in the 1880 Bridgewater, ME census, also her daughter Ora. None of the family can be found in a 1900 census in ME or NH. In 1910 Lancaster, NH Justin, Guy, and Ena are together with Justin listed as widowed; Guy was still single, and Ena was divorced. It isn't known yet if Ora married or had died.
He is buried beside his daughter, Ena Collins.
Justin died in the N.H. State Hospital where he had been for 8mos 14dys.
