"Joe A. (Skeet) Coffee, age 77, of Coleman, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at his home. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 4 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

"He was born Joe Arthur Coffee on May 13, 1934 in Knox City, Texas. He grew up in Lubbock and Odessa and attended school in Odessa. In 1952 he married Berniece Farmer in Hobbs, New Mexico and they moved to Coleman in 1955. Skeet worked in the oil field for many years and retired from 3M in Brownwood. He was a member of Concho Baptist Church.

"He is survived by his wife, Berniece Coffee of Coleman; two sons, Darrell Coffee and wife Jennifer of San Antonio, Clayton Coffee and wife Lisa of New Orleans, LA; three granddaughters, two grandsons; four great-grandchildren.

"He was preceded in death by his brother Wayne and sister Freda; his daughter, Linda Adams in 2003.

"Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehabiliation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605.

"Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman, Texas 76834."
