3 Tots Die In Blaze

Buckeye, May 6
Three small children died in a Buckeye cabin fire Saturday night.
Neither of their parents was at home when the blaze struck.
Victims were Susan Summers, four years old; Beulah Amabisca, three; and Patricia Amabisca, two. Susan was a half siter of the other two.
A fourth month old teething baby was taken from the cabin in Fletchers Court by a neighbor a half hour before the disaster. The neighbor, Clistie Gragg, discovered the fire, according to Bill Meck, coroner. When she reached the dwelling, flames drove her back.
The Buckeye Fire Department confined the blaze to the cabin. It was virtually destroyed.
Their mother, Audie, 24, was at work as a waitress at the time. The father, Gil, 29, is a laborer.
The children were found on one the floor and the other feet-to-feet on a cot. Apparently they died of suffocation, according to Meck. They seemed to have made no attempt to escape.
Meck impaneled a jury on the spot and called an inquest for 10am Thursday.
