WALTER MCINTOSH, 76,
DIES IN MANNINGTON

Walter McIntosh, 76, merchant, timberman and dealer in coal properties a great many years, died in his home in Mannington Tuesday night at 10:30 following one year of illness from cancer.

Mr. McIntosh, known generally throughout western Kentucky, was held in high esteem as a man of fine integrity. He made a desperate effort combating the ravages of disease, going to Mayo's and to Vanderbilt Clinic several times, but in recent weeks friends abandoned hope for his recovery.

One son, Russell McIntosh, with the army in El Paso, Texas, survives. He was pected to reach Mannington tonight. A brother, (Frank McIntosh, Louisville, was at the deathbed, and a sister, Mrs. Sim Lovelace, Chicago, arrived early this morning.

Funeral will be conducted at ten o'clock Friday morning in Riverside cemetery, Hopkinsville, with members of the Masonic lodge of which Mr. McIntosh had been a member fifty years, having charge of services at the grave.
