Walter C. Ferguson, a lifelong Quincy resident, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, at South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth. He was 90 years of age and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Devoted husband of the late Geraldine (Starratt) Ferguson, he was the loving father of Walter C. Ferguson Jr. married to Georgia of Connecticut, Susan Kelly married to Mark of Scituate and the late Robert Ferguson of Florida. Walter is survived by his sister, Isabel; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; the devoted Dillon family; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Walter was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel at the Quincy Shipyard and had also worked for Whitings Milk Co. He enjoyed watching all sports and his mandated weekly bowling outings. He was a caring, kind friend to all who knew him and he will be very much missed. Burial services at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private. McDonald-FuneralHomes.com
