Arthur Annesley, 11th Viscount Valentia was the son of Hon. Arthur Annesley and Flora Macdonald.
He married Laura Sarah Webb, daughter of Daniel Hale Webb, on 30 January 1878. He died aged 83.(Banbury Guardian, 13 Oct 1949, page 5)

The death occurred on Thursday last in Hampstead at the age of 66 of the Right Hon. Sir Caryl Arthur James Annesley, twelfth Viscount Valentia of County Kerry, Baron Mountnorris, of Mountnorris Castle, County Armagh (both in the peerage of Ireland), Baron Annesley, of Bletchington (in the peerage of the United Kingdom), and the premier baronet of Ireland.

Viscount Valentia was High Steward of Banbury from 1932 to 1947, from which he resigned when he sold his Oxfordshire properties.

Educated at Eton and at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, he joined the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in 1903, but later transferred to the Royal Dragoons. In 1909 he was appointed A.D.C. to the Governor of Madras. From 1920 to 1921 he was A.D.C. and then for six years private secretary and Comptroller to Prince Arthur of Connaught when Governor-General of South Africa. He was C.V.O. in 1924.

Viscount Valentia was unmarried. The heir to the viscouncy is the Rev. W.M. Annesley, Vicar of Brewham-with-Redlynch, Somerset. The United Kingdom barony now lapses.

The funeral took place at Bletchington on Monday.
