Eugene L. "Gene" Stefanick of Hermitage, entered into eternal life on Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Venice, Fla., where he had recently moved to be with his only daughter, Monica, and his beloved grandchildren. He was 72.

Mr. Stefanick was born March 15, 1940, in Wheatland to Andrew J. and Anna Susan Kutnak Stefanick.

He attended St. Ann's Catholic School and graduated from Farrell High School.

He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy for five years.

Gene was a coil winder in transformer manufacturing for Wheatland Tube Corp. and worked for 25 years for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

He was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and neighbor who always sought to help those in need.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, the former Stephanie Danessa, whom he married July 8, 1967; his brothers, Andrew J. Stefanick Jr. and Leonard A. Stefanick; and his sisters, Celestine Powers and Geraldine Palmer.

Mr. Stefanick is survived by his sister, Dorothy Spencer; brother, Ronald M. Stefanick; daughter, Monica Stefanick Hunek and her husband Jeffrey; and grandchildren, Ryan, James and Anna Grace.
