According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Oct 28, 1902

Slayer of "Venus" Was buried Today.

Edward ended his own life after he shot and killed Miss Marion Nolan, the "California Venus" in San Francisco, California.

The funeral took place at Charles Marschuetz's house, brother to Edward. Rev. Dr. Jonas held the service.

"California Venus" won her title in a beauty contest in 1892 at the age of 16. Her figure was sculptured in gold and exhibited at the World's Fair in Chicago.

Edward walked Marion to her door when they began to quarrel. From witnesses, she ordered him to leave and she struck him with an umbrella. He then shot her and then himself.
