Phoebe Ann, daughter of D. F. and Mehetabel Miles, was born near Hartford City, Indiana, on January 2, 1866 and departed this life at her home in Onaga, Kansas, on March 18, 1930, aged 64 years, 2 months and 16 days.

She came to Kansas with her parents at the age of 13 years, and has made her home in Pottawatomie county ever since.
She was married to Oliver P. Crumbaker on October 24, 1884. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Bessie Krouse, of Onaga, Kansas, and Earl I. Crumbaker, of Denver, Colo.

She was preceded into the Great Beyond by her father, D. F. Miles, and two sisters, Bertha Miles and Mrs. Minne Day. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her departure her aged mother, Mrs. D. F. Miles; two brothers, Ed. Miles, of Topeka, and A. O. Miles, of Soldier; three sisters, Mrs. E. N. Barton, of Onaga, Mrs. J. S. Conlin, of Oneida, and Mrs. M. M. Caron, of Topeka; also three grandchildren: Earlene and Glen Crumbaker, of Denver, and Gale Krouse, of Onaga, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a faithful member of the Congregational church, the bible class of the Sunday school and the Ladies Aid Society. She was a charter member of the Royal Neighbor lodge, also a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah lodges, and was loyal and active in all. She had a host of friends in this community who loved her for her sterling qualities for she was an ideal neighbor and citizen.

The funeral services was held at the Congregational church, in charge of the Rev. E. V. Gardner, of Westmoreland. Mrs. Hermia Miller presided at the piano and the hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Grutzmacher. Interment was in the Onaga cemetery, where an impressive service was conducted by the Royal Neighbor lodge.

The out of town relatives who attended the funeral of Mrs. O. P. Crumbaker, last Thursday, were: Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crumbaker and two children, of Denver, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Conlin, of Oneida; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Miles, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Caron, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Kurtz, Mrs. Genevieve Saunders and Alice June Caron, of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Miles, of Soldier; Frank Day, of Belvue; Mr. and Mrs. Alvah Herge, and Mr. and Mrs.Fred Tilley, of Frankfort, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hedge, of Beattie; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hedge and Morgan Hedge, of Oketo; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Crumbaker and son George, of Manhatten; Miss Gladys Crumbaker, of Herrington; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Johnson, of Randolph; Mrs. George Dawe and son Thomas, E. Ballentine and Hugh Ballentine, of Wamego.
