For some time there has been a misinterpretation that Isaac had a middle name of Michael. Isaac did NOT have a middle name. Isaac VanBibber was born February 2, 1725 about 7 miles from Baltimore, Maryland. When he heard about the confrontation of Lord Dunmore's forces near Point Pleasant, he hastened to join them.
As commonly known, the Indians overtook the forces and Isaac was wounded. He lived one day and died on October 11, 1774. At that time all of the soldiers that fell were buried in a common grave. I have been to the Point and seen the large monument erected in their memory.
Somehow, someone got the idea that he had a middle name and put up a monument to the name of Michael Van Bibber. A lady saw this monument and got into the DAR on that name.
For a long time the Battle was not considered the beginning of the Revolutionary War but many years later, Congress decreed that it definitely was. He was married to Sarah Davis.
