He was born in Franklin County the son of the late Tom and Geneva Dawson Godfrey, and was a retired machinist.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon, June 25, 2003 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Godfrey is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Godfrey; daughters, Debbie Taylor, and Donna Allen, both of Wake Forest; son, Jimmie Godfrey Jr. of Petersburg, VA; sister, Sandra Lowery and her husband, Cliff of Franklinton; and by his granddaughter, Alyssa Allen.
Friends may visit with the family from 7-8:30 Tuesday evening at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main Street, Wake Forest. (919-556-5811).
