Our beloved mother, grandma, and sister, Afton Lorene Kunz Bowman, 77, died February 27, 2001 in West Jordan, Utah.
Born December 14, 1923 in Wardboro, Idaho to Martin Marion Kunz and Genevieve Pugmire Keetch Kunz.

Married Harold I. Bowman, Jr. November 23, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died June 5, 1961. As a lifelong member of the LDS Church, she served faithfully in ward and stake primaries for many years. Graduated with honors from the University of Utah as a registered nurse, with a post graduate degree from Stanford University in physical therapy. Former partner of Jacob Lake Inn, Arizona.

Returned to nursing in Newborn ICU at University of Utah Medical Center, joined Primary Children's Medical Center to establish Newborn ICU and become its first head nurse. She left Primary Children's to join the State of Utah Handicapped Children Services.

She was recognized for outstanding service to the handicapped children of the State of Utah. She retired from nursing in 1994.

Survived by four children, Harold (Lori), Kim (Mary-Ann), Kent (Laurie), Genene (Matthew) Cotton; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Delmain; and three sisters, Dolores, Jeanette, and Lynetta.

Preceeded in death by one brother, Ferris.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2001, noon, at Monument Park 12th Ward, 2975 E. Crestview Drive. Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and Saturday at the ward from 10:45- 11:45 a.m.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
