LORING BENNIGHT DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
Pneumonia Is Fatal to Resident Here 26 Years
Loring Fulson [sic] Bennight, who has been a resident of Macon for the past twenty-six years, passed away at 7:15 o'clock yesterday evening at his home on S. Rubey St. Mr. Bennight had suffered a short illness, having been confined to his home since last Friday with pneumonia.
The deceased was born at Caddo [sic], Tex., in 1873, the son of W. M. and Mary Tyree Bennight. His age at the time of his death was 64 years, eleven months and 19 days.
Mr. Bennight's early life was spent in Texas and Arkansas. He moved in 1906 to Stahl, Mo., where he operated a coal mine until twenty-six years ago, when he moved to Macon. He has been connected with the Home Coal Company since that time as mine foreman and engineer, serving loyally and winning the respect of his many associates and friends in that capacity.
In 1893 he was united in marriage to Rosa Lee Null, who survives him. Besides Mrs. Bennight, he is survived by five children, namely, Mrs. E. V. Ledford and Mrs. Russell Itschner of Macon, Mrs. Earl Norman of Luther, Okla., and Mildred and Juanita of the home. Five children, William, Earnest, Vernon, Melvin and Catherine, preceded him in death. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters. His brothers and sisters are the following: P. P. Bennight of Jenny Lind, Ark.; Everett Bennight of Placerville, Cal.; Sam Bennight of Texas; T. T. Bennight, Henrietta, Okla.; and Mrs. Betty Byer, Tulsa, Okla.; Fanny Bennight, Henrietta, Okla.; Sweetie Bennight of Texas and another sister, Pauline, who preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Albert Skinner Home for Funerals, conducted by the Rev. Alfred Munyon, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be at Oak-wood cemetery.
