Aged man falls from train: A.V.B. Philips, Civil War veteran, 75 years old, was killed when he fell from a Thursday morning passenger train about a mile and a half south of Blunt [Hughes County, SD]. The body was found by the section man, Ben Weslund, and J.M. Agnes about 4 in the afternoon. On the dead man's person was $693, a pension check for $100, a pass book showing $25,000 deposited on an Earlville, Ill. Bank, and a ticket from Earlville to Capa, west of the River, where he was evidently going to close the sale of a piece of land.
