Mary Agnes Gardner
Sad news that the matriarch of our Friedman Family Farm in Malvern, Ohio passed away. She has had complications from congestive heart failure the last few months, but was strong & determined all the way. She has always been a person with great faith & dedication to her church.
In 2008 she sold the portion of the farm that included the house to Steven Friedman, her great nephew, but retained the land for use by a local farmer. This is her third of the same property that was purchased in 1832 by our immigrant from Moos in Baden Germany, Franz Joseph Friedman & family. Mary & her husband Joe have been living in a smaller single story home across from St. Francis Xavier Church since then. I had the good fortune to meet Mary & Joe, 21 years ago when I visited & have done my best to stay in touch. We last had a nice telephone chat on her birthday in January. Jean McNamara (4/29/2012)
