Mary Petronella Malloy

Mary Malloy was born December 22, 1857 to John Malloy and Mary Dowling in Middleton, Wisconsin
Mary entered the St. Agnes Convent in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on May 1, 1878. She was admitted to the novitiate in 1879 and was given the name of Sister M. Petronella.

She taught school at Defiance, Ohio, Muncie and Decatur, Indiana, Hudson, Wisconsin and lastly at St. Joseph's Orphanage, Baraga, Michigan where she spent six years.

In the summer of 1916 she became ill while serving at Our Lady Queen of Angels in Harlem, Ny. She was taken to St. Francis Hospital where on August 18, 1916 she peacefully breathed forth her holy soul into the hands of her Maker.

She was buried in Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee, NJ.

At the time of death Mary was survived by a brother Peter Molloy in Wisconsin and two sisters, Margaret Molloy Trainor and Bridget Molloy Trainor,both from Minnesota
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Catherine Molloy Eith in 1911 and Alecia Molloy Walker in 1912 and a brother Michael Molloy in 1913.
