Farmington, Davie County, NC where most of the Smith family lived, is a small village located at a crossroad of the highways 801 east and west and the Huntsville and Mocksville road to the north and south. It is one mile east of Cedar Creek and two miles south of the Yadkin County line. It is believed that Farmington was founded in the 1830's.
