Timothy Randall "Tim" Rucker, 51, of Athens, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Millard Rucker. He was a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church and was an employee of Duracell.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Powers Rucker of Athens; his father and mother, Wilburn C. and Barbara Jean Rucker of Athens; one son, Travis C. Rucker of Athens; one daughter, Leeva R. Rucker of Athens; one stepdaughter and her husband, Brandi and the Rev. Michael Hodsden of Riceville; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Donzella Couch of Athens; one sister and brother in-law, Kim and Robert Freeman of Athens; two grandchildren, Chance Hodsden and Camryn Hodsden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Oran Creasman and the Rev. Michael Hodsden officiating. Burial will follow in Eastanallee Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Cleek, Ricky Powers, Brad Couch, Robert Freeman, Josh Hyde and Wayne Holland.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
