Brent George Boyer died on July 28, 2011 in Pine Mountain after a six-year battle with cancer. He was born on April 21, 1942 in Van Nuys, California.

In 1961 he graduated from John Muir High School in Pasadena, California. He attended Pasadena City College, Brigham Young University- Provo and the University of California-Santa Barbara.

Brent had a knowledge of and passion for anthropology, ancient world history and cultures and the Holy Scriptures. He served in the U.S. National Guard Reserves. He worked as a courier in Southern California for the majority of his life, including working for Universal Studios for many years; he also did courier work in Nevada.

Brent was a member and elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two-year proselyting mission in the Northwestern States (Oregon and Idaho) from 1961 to 1963 and fervently bore testimony of the Gospel to help bring many individuals into the Church during and after his mission. He had a gift for teaching the Gospel, and compassion and charity for those less fortunate, despite often having difficulty caring for himself.

He was a resident of Frazier Park on and off from 2000 to 2005 and of Pine Mountain from 2005 to 2011. He enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of living in the mountains for the last years of his life.
