Los Angeles undertaker, operating the E. E. Overholtzer & Sons Funeral Parlor which had various locations in Los Angeles which he started in 1904 after first working for Pierce Bros. Mortuaries. Following his death his son Ivy took charge and the Overholtzer Funeral Home was in business until the early 1950's.
Mr. Overholtzer was also highly involved with the I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) and held many high offices within the organization. He was the founder of the Grand Lodge of the I.O.O.F. in South Dakota.
