Death of Aged Pioneer Women
Mrs. Ann Marsh, whose serious illness has been noted in these columns from time to time, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Sellers, in this city last Sunday. Mrs. Marsh was born in England 88 years ago, and had been a resident of Sevier county many years, barring a ten year's resident in the mormon colonies in Mexico. Her husband died in the early 90's, but is well remembered by many of the older people. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Sellers of this city, and Mrs. Maggie Gurr of Iron County. There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He funeral services occurred in the First ward chapel on Tuesday. The speakers who attested to her worth as a woman were Wm. Ogden, Newell K. Young of Mt. Pleasant, President R.D. Young and Bishop H.C. Christensen. The music was by the ward choir, and a touching solo was sung by Mrs. A.W.B. Bird. The remains were interred in the city cemetery.
