William married Marguerite Frances Platts on December 20th, 1942 in the Bethany Moravian Church in York Co., Pennsylvania, daughter of G. Platts and Sallie Eaton.

Mr. Sprenkle retired in 1981 after 40 years as a fireman and then engineer for ConRail-Amtrak Railroad, Maryland Division.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and its Leisure Group.
He was a member of White Rose Lodge 706 Free and Accepted Masons; Harrisburg Consistory; White Rose Scottish Rite of Harrisburg Consistory; York Forest 30 Tall Cedars of Lebanon; National Chapter of American Association of Retired Persons; Southeast York Chapter 1246 of American Association of Retired Persons; Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers 52; Retired Railroad Employees (NARVE).
Born in Lower Windsor Township Aug. 20, 1919, he was the son of the late Roy C. and Elsie M Reese Sprenkle.
He leaves his wife, Marguerite F. Platts Sprenkle; a son, William R. Sprenkle of Washington, N.C.; three grandsons; a great-grandson; and a brother, James E. Sprenkle of Fort Meyers, Fla. A son, Dennis A. Sprenkle, is deceased.
Viewing is from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St. The service is at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard L Ehrhart, associate pastor of Advent Lutheran Church, officiating. Graveside services will be held by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Burial is in Mount Rose Cemetery.
