Mrs. Lulu Carey, 86, Native of Boylston Dies in Belleville
Mrs. Lulu Lowrey Carey, 86, widow of Mack Carey, died Tuesday, April 4, 1961 at the Abare Nursing home, Belleville, where she had been a patient for six days.
A native of Boylston, Mrs Carey was born on Dec 15, 1874, the daughter of Henry and Allie Shoecraft Lowrey.
On March 21, 1921 she was married to Mack Carey, and the couple lived on and operated the Lowrey family farm in the town of Lorraine. Mr. Carey's death occurred Jan 9, 1950
Mrs. Carey had been in failing health for four months and had lived with a cousin, Mrs Donald Remington, Belleville, before entering the nursing home Her only survivors are several cousins.
T he funeral Friday at 2 pm will be at the Carpenter-Stoodley funeral home with Rev Miles L. Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in North Boylston Cemetery.
