Wolfe City-Laura M. Owens, 90, of Route 2, Celeste died Thursday in a Gunter nursing home.
Funeral services will e at 2:30 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church with Revs. L.B. Morgan, Glendon Lemon, and R.A. Lecthner officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Born Oct. 3, 1895, she was the daughter of William David and Virgia Alice Foster Cozby. She was married to S.F. Owens Dec. 31, 1917 in Wolfe City. Mrs. Owens was a member of the Hickory Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons Sim F. Owens, Jr. of Wolfe City, Billy Don Owens of Corpus Christi, and Gerald Mead Owens of Denison; daughter, JoAnn Ethridge of Celeste; brother Virgie Cozby of Dallas; sisters Etta Keen of Oklahoma City and Carrie Pierce of Irving; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Owens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
